GHAZIABAD: A day after a woman’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase along Canal Road in the Behta Hajipur area, police have registered a murder case, with the autopsy confirming death by strangling.The woman, who is yet to be identified, is believed to be around 25. Her body bore no visible external injuries, raising initial suspicions of suffocation or poisoning.

ACP (Ankur Vihar) Ajay Kumar Singh said the autopsy reports, received Tuesday night, stated strangling and suffocation as the cause of death. “When we found the body, blood was still oozing out, indicating the woman could have been murdered on Monday night. Following the reports, we registered a case under BNS section 103(1) (murder) at Loni Border police station,” he said.The body was found around 7.30 am on Tuesday, when daily wage workers spotted a bedsheet-wrapped suitcase and alerted authorities. “We have formed four teams, two of which are scanning CCTV footage of the area and the rest working to identify the woman,” Singh said.
