On September 5, 2025, in Miami at LoanDepot Park, Harrison Bader hit a home run for the Philadelphia Phillies. Drew Feltwell caught the ball and handed it to his son, Lincoln, as a birthday gift. Suddenly, a gray-haired Phillies fan later called “Phillies Karen” and claimed the ball was hers and demanded it back. To avoid a scene, Drew gave up the ball. That made Lincoln sad for a moment. But soon after, Marlins staff gave him a gift bag, and later, Harrison Bader gave him a signed bat.
Drew Feltwell explains why he gave the ball away to Cheryl Richardson Wagner
Drew Feltwell says he grabbed the ball first from left field seats. He had seen where it landed and picked it up fast. He walked back and put the ball into Lincoln’s glove. Then the woman, wearing Phillies clothes, came over and yelled, “That’s my ball!” Drew said he jumped and felt surprised. He whispered, “Go away,” because the woman was so loud and would not stop. He thought: should I argue or stay calm? He chose to be calm. He did not want to make it worse in front of his son. He said, “I pretty much just wanted her to go away … or be dad and show him how to de-escalate.” Lincoln later said he wasn’t happy but felt he couldn’t win.

Marlins, Phillies and Harrison Bader help Lincoln feel better
After the fight, fans booed the woman. Her male companion left, and she followed. Then, Marlins staff came over, apologized to Lincoln, and gave him a goodie bag with baseballs for him and his sister. Later, Harrison Bader invited Lincoln after the game and gave him a signed bat. Meanwhile, the woman’s name Cheryl Richardson Wagner was shared online, but people aren’t sure she’s the same person. Several women with that name denied being involved or lied about working at a school district. Those claims turned out to be untrue.
