KISS rock star Gene Simmons recovering after Malibu crash

LOS ANGELES — KISS rock icon Gene Simmons is recovering after he was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Malibu, California, according to his wife.

Deputies responded to a call about a black Lincoln Navigator striking a parked vehicle in the 25000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The driver, an adult male who was not named, “might have suffered a medical emergency before the crash,” the sheriff’s department said.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, it said.

The sheriff’s department did not confirm to NBC News that Simmons was the driver. However, his wife, Shannon Tweed, told NBC Los Angeles that he was involved in the crash.

Simmons, 76, told authorities that he had passed out or fainted and then hit a parked car, the station reported. His SUV had crossed several lanes of traffic in the accident, Tweed told the station.

She said doctors had changed his medications recently and told him he needed to drink more water.

He is recovering at home, she said.

Simmons thanked people on X for their well-wishes and said he was “completely fine.”

“I had a slight fender bender. It happens,” he wrote. “Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”
