NEW DELHI: Two schools in New Delhi received bomb threat emails early Wednesday morning, prompting immediate evacuation and deployment of fire services and police. Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Malviya Nagar and Andhra School in Karol Bagh’s Prasad Nagar area received the threats at 7.40am and 7.42am respectively.Fire tenders were dispatched to both locations after the threats were reported. Police and bomb disposal teams conducted thorough searches of the school premises as a safety measure.These incidents follow similar bomb threats received by several Delhi schools just two days earlier on August 18. Delhi Public School Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka had received threats through email.The threats came from a group identifying themselves as “Terrorisers 111 Group.” They demanded a cryptocurrency payment of $5,000 within 72 hours to prevent detonation of alleged bombs.“Pay $5,000 USD Crypto within 72 hours. If you don’t, we will detonate the bombs,” stated the email according to Delhi Police.The group sent a detailed message to school administrators: “We are the Terrorisers 111 Group. We have planted several pipe bombs and advanced explosive devices in your school buildings to cause terror and destruction. We have hacked your IT systems, including student and staff databases, and taken full control of your surveillance cameras. We are watching your every move.”While previous threats on August 18 turned out to be hoaxes, security agencies are treating Wednesday’s threats with utmost seriousness and following all necessary protocols.Similar incidents occurred in July when multiple schools received bomb threats, including Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, the Sovereign School in Rohini Sector 24, Modern International School in Dwarka Sector 19, and the Heritage School in Rohini Sector 23.(Inputs with agency)
