The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled nearly 2 million SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers after over 100 customers reported serious burn injuries. The recall was initiated because the lid on the affected models can reportedly open during use, causing hot food to spill out and burn users. More than 50 customers have sustained second- or third-degree burns to the face or body as a result of the malfunction, according to the CPSC. These pressure cookers were sold across several retailers in the US, including Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and Target stores, as well as online, from January 19 through March 2025 at around $200 each.
The affected units, identified by model numbers OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB, OP305, OP305CO, and OP350CO (printed on a side label). In total, nearly 1.8 million units were sold in the US. and another 180,000 were sold in Canada.

What the company said about recalling millions of pressure cookers

In a statement to CNN, the company said that the recall was done in cooperation with the US Commission and Health Canada.
“The safety of our customers is a top priority for SharkNinja. This addresses reports that some consumers have been able to open the pressure-cooking lids of certain units of these cookers during use, resulting in burn injuries from hot contents,” SharkNinja said.
The CPSC has also warned that customers should immediately stop using the appliance’s pressure cooker function and contact SharkNinja to receive a free replacement lid.
Consumers are advised to reach out to SharkNinja online rather than returning the cooker to the original retailer. According to the recall notice, all other features, such as air frying, remain safe to use.
“Consumers can continue to use the product’s air frying and other functions,” the CPSC notice reads.
The recall also covers any replacement pressure cooker lids from the OP300 series that were bought separately. Consumers are instructed to contact SharkNinja to receive a free replacement lid, the notice states.
