DEHRADUN: At least eight workers were injured on Saturday after a landslide struck the Helang dam site of the under-construction Vishnugad-Pipalkoti hydropower project, being developed by THDC in Chamoli district. Following the incident, teams from the Tehsil Administration, Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Health Department quickly reached the site.

All injured workers were rescued and admitted to hospital for treatment. According to District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, no fatalities were reported. Of the injured, four are being treated at the THDC Hospital. Two workers with serious injuries are admitted to Swami Vivekananda Hospital in Pipalkoti, one is being treated for fractures locally, and one has been referred to the Medical College in Srinagar due to the severity of injuries. Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and ensure medical care for the injured.
